Task
Our task was to create a horror opening sequence that includes a distributor, producer, tiles and had to be about 2 minutes long. We had to look into different aspects that would be included in our opening sequence. One of them being sound. This is an important part as it can either make or break a scene, as a soundtrack can help build emotion, tension and atmosphere, so if it is used incorrectly then the scene won’t be as effective. The use of camera is also very important, like what shots we would use, why and how they would be effective. (AM)
Another aspect we concentrated on was lighting, this included whether we would film during the day or at night, and what angles we would place lighting so we would be able to get a clear shot. Editing is a big part of making a horror opening sequence. It can effect how the sequence flows, if it creates the right appearance you are aiming for, and if the sequence looks professional. While looking into Mise -en- scene we noticed there are a number of different parts to it. We also noticed that it is the most important part in any film or program, as it sets the scene, atmosphere and setting. (AM)
Distributor and Production companyFrom our research we found that at the beginning of a film there is always the Distributor and the Production Company. The Distributor is the company that is responsible for marketing the film and delivering it to the public. We created a 5 second Distributor called "Moon Light Pictures" which was inspired by a distributor called "DreamWorks." This will be shown at the very beginning of our horror opening sequence.
The Production Company is responsible for the development and physical production of any new media. We made an 11 second Production company clip with the name "Doll House Productions." We chose this name as it links in with our original idea for our opening sequence of the "Dolls." These are a few distribution companies(AM) |
