What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
A production company is responsible for the development and physical production of any new media. A distributor is a company that is responsible for marketing the film and delivering it to the public.
Our distributor is called "Moon Light Pictures." This name was inspired by "Dream Works" with their well known logo of a boy sat on the moon. The colours used, blue and white, don't relate to a specific genre. For example the colours black, red and white are well known colours for the horror genre. Pink and red symbolize romance, and greens and browns are known for adventure. Blue however is a colour that doesn't have associations to a particular genre, which is why we used it for our distributor. Our production company is called "Doll House Productions." |

As our Horror is similar to the film Insidious, we think that their distributor "Film District" would be the best existing distributor for our opening sequence.
This is the order of our opening titles:
- Moon Light Pictures Presents
- A Doll House Production
- A film by Aston Cooper
- Four Forty Eight AM
- Starring Abbey Mustoe
- Jensen Arkell
- James Wierd
- John Smith
- Liam Harris
- Casting by Sally Thomas
- Music by Ryan Lowe
- Production designer Leanna Arkell
- Edited by Katie Iles
- Director of photography Oscar Wisbey
- Written and Directed by Aston Cooper
We included the most important titles in our sequence. We looked into what other horrors used in their titles and took on a similar order. By having our production company and distributor first, it shows their importance. Our title then came next as if it was near the end of the titles then our sequence would be similar to a trailer instead of a opening sequence. Our actors then followed this as they had a huge part in the making. Making sure our titles flowed, our next title was "Casting by Sally Thomas" so it links in with our actors. We then had "Music by Ryan Lowe" "Production Designer Leanna Arkell" and "Edited by Katie Iles" titles as they were all very important roles within the making of our opening sequence. Our final title was "Written and directed by Aston Cooper" We had this as our last title, as we noticed on all the horror opening sequences we watched, they all ended on this same title.
